How Trade Route works

Trade Route is a platform designed to bring Australian food and beverage producers together with consumers in one marketplace. Below is a guide for Producers to get started.


Step 1 - Sign Up
Create a Trade Route account by clicking Sign Up located in the top right corner. Sign in using your facebook, google or linkedIn accounts, or create a new Trade Route account.

Step 2 - Post a new item
In the top right hand corner is the "Post a new item" button. Click on this button and select the appropriate category for your product. Please enter the details of your item along with photos.


Below the Price you can view the processing fees involved in each transaction, a Trade Route fee and a Paypal fee.

Step 3 - Listing approval
Once you have listed an item, Trade Route will need to approve the listing before it is active. This can take up to twenty four hours and your item will be displayed on the Trade Route Platform.

Q. How do I set up a new shop? 
 A. Just click on the "Post a new item" button in the top right corner.

Q. How long will it take for my newly listed products to be approved?
A. Anywhere from 24-48 hours

Q. Do I need to create a Pro PayPal account to sell items? 
A. Yes, Paypal makes it very easy to setup or upgrade to a Pro PayPal account.

Q. I have set up a shop. How does shipping work?
A. Shipping is up to the seller. Everyone has their own preferred method and carrier.

Q. Do my products have to be made in Australia?
A. Yes, they definitely do. Trade Route is here to help promote local business and locally made products.

Q. How can I see what producers are in my area?
A. On the HOME page you can select between viewing the products in GRIDLIST or MAP mode. Using the MAP mode will allow you to view your area and see which producers are nearby.

Q. Can I promote my own website within my Trade Route profile?
A. Yes, Trade Route came about because we want to promote local food producers around Australia.
